- My name is Katie and I am a Byzantine Catholic college student. I am also the co-host of the radio program "Light of the East" with Fr. Thomas J. Loya. I grew up in the Byzantine Catholic Church and my faith is at the center of my life. I decided to start a blog because I want to share with others what it is like to be Catholic, especially Byzantine Catholic, in a secular university and in an ever increasingly secular world.
